Wahlberg’s eagle – Hieraaetus wahlbergi – is a small/medium sized migratory African eagle of Type – diurnal-raptor, Family Accipitridae and Order Accipitriformes. It is native to s s Africa, where it has complex migratory seasonal movements. It typically breeds in the wet season and prefers open woodlands, savannas and farmland. In the AWB Region it is found across the Sahel Belt in Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Chad, Sudan, Eritrea and Djibouti.
