Wedge-tailed shearwater

The Wedge-tailed shearwater – Ardenna pacifica is a medium/large shearwater of Type – seabird of the Family Procellariidae and the Order Procellariiformes. It is widely distributed over the Tropical areas of the N and S Pacific and Indian Oceans outside of the Breeding Season. The main breeding areas are Islands in the SW Pacific, and in the Indian Ocean on NW and W Coasts of Australia. In the AWB Region, outside of the Breeding Season it is found in the Indian Ocean around the Comoros Islands, and further N it is found offshore of the coasts of the Arabian sea but with little penetration into the Gulf of Aden and the Gulf of Oman where it is recorded only as Accidental.
