Whooper swan

The Whooper swan (Cygnus cygnus) is a very large Palearctic swan. Its range extends from Iceland right across Northern Europe, Russia and Siberia to the Far East. It migrates South to many separate temperate regions from the UK to Japan except for Iceland where there is a permanent resident population in the West of the country. The swans preferred habitat has large areas of open water in which they spend most of their time.
