Willow warbler – Phylloscopus trochilus – is a small migratory Eurasian warbler of Type – insectivore, Family Phylloscopidae and Order Passeriformes. It is an extensive summer breeder to N and Temperate Eurasia, and it migrates in the winter to s s Africa. The AWB Region lies midway between the summer and winter ranges and occurs on Passage across the whole area, The northern limit of its wintering starts in the far S of Mali, Niger and Chad with a small isolated wintering area in S Somalia.

Type - insectivore - nests in vegetation close to the ground, 
Summer Habitat - open woodlands with undergrowth, often damp or close to water, 
Winter Habitat - more varied to include denser wooded areas and forests,
