The Yellow-billed Stork – Mycteria ibis – is a sedentary mid-sized, s s African stork of Type – wadingbird, Family Ciconiidae and Order Ciconiiformes. It is resident and widely distributed over s s Africa, but does make seasonal movements related to the rainfall pattern. In the AWB Region it is found in suitable wetlands S from the Sahel Belt.

Type - wadingbird - colonial, nests in small trees over water or mature trees in dry areas, 
Summer Habitat - shallow wetlands and mudflats, 
Winter Habitat - as above but avoids, deep waters, extensive flooded areas, and densely wooded regions
