African woolly-necked stork – Ciconia microscelis – is a large resident African stork of Type – wadingbird, Family Ciconiidae and Order Ciconiiformes. It is widely found over s s Africa and in the AWB Region it is found as resident in Mali, Niger, Chad, Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti, Somalia and is recorded as Accidental in Mauritania. Traditionally, it also has been more generally known as Woolly necked stork, but has now been split into two separate African and Asian species.

Type - wadingbird - breeds and feeds in small groups and colonies, 
Typical Habitat - forages in wetland and flooded grassland margins,
