African jacana – Actophilornis africanus – is a resident African water related species of Type – marshfowl, Family Jacanidae and Order Charadriiformes. It is widely found over s s Africa except for the most arid areas. In the AWB Region it is found as resident in Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Chad, Sudan and S Somalia.
