Black-breasted weaver – Ploceus benghalensis – is a small resident Asian passerine of Type – granivore, Family Ploceidae and Order Passeriformes. It is native to the extensive river plains of N India. The AWB Region lies outside of its normal range, but it has been Introduced to Qatar.

Type - granivore - typically breeds in colonies, and the male builds the nests by himself,
Typical Habitat - nests are built in reedbeds, with mud or cow dung  binding the reeds,
