Black woodpecker – Dryocopus martius – is a large resident Eurasian woodpecker of Type – arboreal-forager, Family Picidae and Order Piciformes. It has a very extensive range in the northern forests across Eurasia. In the AWB Region it is found as resident in N Turkey, S Caucasus and N Iran.
