Boreal owl – Aegolius funereus – or Tengmalm’s owl – is a small resident Holarctic true-owl of Type – nocturnal-raptor, Family Strigidae and Order Strigiformes. It has a worldwide distribution and is native to the Holarctic Taiga Forest Belt and a few more southerly mountainous areas. In the AWB Region it is resident in Turkey and S Caucasus.
