Dead Sea sparrow – Passer moabiticus – is a small resident/migratory Asia passerine of Type – granivore, Family Passeridae and Order Passeriformes. It is found around the Fertile Crescent countries, mainly concentrating along the river valleys. In the AWB Region it is resident in the Levant, Syria, Iraq and Iran. In the more peripheral areas it is a summer breeder to Cyprus and S Turkey and it migrates to central and S Iraq in winter.
