Sittidae – Nuthatches+ is a Family of small to medium sized passerines of Type – arboreal-forager, and Order Passeriformes. They typically breed in Temperate montane woodlands, nest in tree holes and crevices, and spend much of their time climbing over tree trunks, searching in the bark for food. There is a sub-family of the same genus Sitta, the Rock-nuthatches, that live above the treeline and these are of Type – ground-forager.
