Chinese pond-heron – Ardeola bacchus – is a medium sized migratory/resident Asian heron of Type – wadingbird, Family Ardeidae and Order Pelecaniformes. Broadly it is migratory in the N of its range, resident along the coastal areas of China and a winter to SE Asia and islands. The AWB Region lies outside of its normal range but it is recorded as Accidental in Oman.
