Common hawk-cuckoo – Hierococcyx varius – is a mid-sized resident Asian cuckoo, of Type – cuckoidal, Family Cuculidae and Order Cuculiformes. It is widespread over most of the Indian subcontinent except for Pakistan. The AWB Region lies outside of its normal range but it is recorded as Accidental in Oman.
