Common redpoll – Acanthis flammea – is a small resident/migratory Holarctic passerine of Type – granivore, Family Fringillidae and Order Passeriformes. It is widely found in boreal forests and open willow woodlands of the Tundra Region. It flocks in winter and is found in the open steppes and more lightly wooded areas down to the N Caucasus area. The AWB Region lies to the South of its normal winter range but it is recorded as Accidental in Turkey.
