European starling – Sturnus vulgaris – or Common starling, is a migratory Eurasian starling of Type – arboreal-forager, Family Sturnidae and Order Passeriformes. It has a wide world-wide range, in the Old World it has an extensive Eurasian range. In the N and NE it is migratory, but in W Europe and SW Asia it is mostly resident. In the AWB Region it is resident in Turkey, S Caucasus, Iran and N UAE. It winters in lowland areas of Syria, Iraq, Kuwait, Central & S Levant, Cyprus and the coastal strip of N Africa from S Morocco to Egypt.
