Long-billed pipit – Anthus similis – is a large resident/migratory, Asian/ME pipit of Type – insectivore, Family Motacillidae and Order Passeriformes. It is found across Africa, and Arabia where it is resident and S Asia where it is migratory in the N and resident in S India. In the AWB Region it is a summer breeder to SE Iran, where it also winters in a small area on the Gulf of Oman. It is resident in Oman, UAE, Qatar, the S Levant, Yemen, Socotra, KSA and S Levant. In Africa it is resident in small isolated areas in Mali, Niger, Chad, Sudan, Egypt, Eritrea, Djibouti and Somaliland.
