Shrenck’s bittern – Ixobrychus eurhythmus – is a small migratory Asian bittern of Type – wadingbird, Family Ardeidae and Order Pelecaniformes. It is found in E Asia, southwards from SE Siberia, and in winter migrates to the islands of Indonesia and the Philippines. The AWB Region lies outside of its normal range but it is recorded as Accidental in Egypt.
