The Terek sandpiper – Xenus cinereus is a smallish migratory wader of the family Scolopacidae. It is a summer breeder across Euro/Asiatic Russia and migrates in the winter to the shores of Africa, Arabia, S Asia, SE Asia and Australia. In the AWB Region it winters on the shores of Arabia from Dammam to the Red Sea coasts of Yemen, and from the Nile Delta along the Red Sea coasts of Africa to S Somalia and beyond.
