The Balearic shearwater – Puffinus mauretanicus – is a migratory mid-sized shearwater of Type – seabird, Family Procellariidae and Order Procellariiformes. It is found in the E Atlantic offshore of W Europe, and the W Mediterranean, and in the AWB Region it found in the coastal waters across N Africa from the Atlantic coast of NW Morocco to NW Egypt.

Type - seabird - noisy colonies, nests on island cliffs, burrows or caves, nocturnal when breeding, 
Summer Habitat - Balearic islands, 
Winter Habitat - pelagic, feeds in flocks, typically in the W Mediterranean but also extends into the Atlantic up to GB,
