Black-crowned sparrow-lark – Eremopterix nigriceps –  is a finchlike Lark of Type – Alaudine, Family Alaudidae and Order Passeriformes. It is resident across N Africa, South Arabia, S Iran to NW India. In the AWB Region it is resident in Western Sahara, the Maghreb states, the Red Sea coastal areas of S E Egypt, Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti and Somalia. In Arabia it is present in Central and South KSA. S Iraq, Kuwait and all the Arabian Gulf states including S Iran, Oman Yemen and Socotra.

Typical Habitat - sandy semi-arid and arid plains with scattered scrub, also the Sahel belt,
