Common myna – Acridotheres tristis – is a resident Asian typical myna of Type – arboreal-forager, Family Sturnidae and Order Passeriformes. It is native to the Indian sub-continent and SE Asia but has been introduced to many other warmer areas of the world. In the AWB Region it is native to SE Iran, but has been introduced to many Arabian Gulf states, the Jeddah area of KSA and the Comoros. Overall it is a very invasive species, and once introduced seems to be able to look after itself very nicely.
