Common nightingale – Luscinia megarhynchos – is a migratory Eurasian nightingale of Type – sallyer, Family Muscicapidae and Order Passeriformes. It is a summer breeder from Iberia to E Kazakhstan, and in winter is found in s s Africa. In the AWB Region it is a summer breeder to Turkey, S Caucasus, Iran, Iraq, Syria, the Levant, Cyprus, and the N Maghreb states. In winter it is found in the more wooded areas S of the Sahel Belt from from Senegal to Kenya and within the AWB Region it is found in the extreme S of Mali, Chad and Somali
