Four-banded sandgrouse – Pterocles quadricinctus – is an African sandgrouse of Type – landfowl, Family Pteroclidae and Order Pterocliformes. It is native to s s Africa and in the AWB Region it is found as resident and partially migratory in the Sahel Belt and open woodland to the S, coast to coast from Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Chad, Sudan, and to Eritrea.

Type - landfowl - mostly nocturnal, flocking to watering holes at the end of the day, 
Typical Habitat - Sahel Belt and nearby open wooded areas,
