Greater short-toed lark – Calandrella brachydactyla – is a small lark of Type – Alaudine, Family Alaudidae and Order Passeriformes. It has an extensive range from NW Africa, Southern Europe to W Mongolia. In the AWB Region it is a summer breeder to Turkey, S Caucasus, Iran, Iraq, the Levant and Cyprus. It is also a summer breeder to the coastal Maghreb states and Western Sahara. It winters over extensive areas of the Arabian desert and the Sahara desert down to the Sahel Belt. Including large desert areas of Algeria and Eritrea.

Summer Habitat - dry open country with farmland.
Winter Habitat - open desert areas, and the Sahel Belt,
