Hawfinch – Coccothraustes coccothraustes – is a small migratory/resident Eurasian passerine of Type – granivore, Family Fringillidae and Order Passeriformes. It has a very extensive range across Temperate Eurasia, and winters in the south of that range. In the AWB Region it is resident in the N Maghreb states, N Turkey, S Caucasus and N Iran, and is a winter visitor to most of Turkey, Azerbaijan, NW Iran, Cyprus, S Levant, NE Egypt, NW Libya and the N Maghreb states.
