Little crake

The Little crake – Zapornia parva – according to eBird and Birdlife, but has an alternative scientific name in other sources – is a very small water bird of Type – marshfowl, Family Rallidae and Order Gruiformes. It is a summer breeder, sporadically in W Europe but widely in E Europe and W Asia. It migrates S to Pakistan, S Iran and Africa. In the AWB Region it is a summer breeder in The S Caucasus, and a winter visitor to S Iran, S Iraq, Ras al Hadd area of Oman, S Yemen, Palestine, The Nile Delta and N Nile Valley, and S Niger, It is also noticed on Passage across the N African coastal areas and down the Nile Valley to Eritrea and into Ethiopia.
