Secretarybird – Sagittarius serpentarius – is a large resident African, terrestrial bird of prey of Type – diurnal-raptor, Family Sagittariidae and Order Accipitriformes. It is widely found in the open grasslands and savannas of s s Africa. In the AWB Region it is found across the Sahel Belt in Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Chad, Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti and Somalia.
