Variable wheatear – Oenanthe picata – is a migratory Asian wheatear of Type – sallyer, Family Muscicapidae and Order Passeriformes. It is a summer breeder to SW Asia and migrates only a short distance to winter in the NW Indian sub-continent and the coastal areas of the Gulf of Oman. In the AWB Region it is a summer breeder to NE and SE Iran, and it winters on the Gulf of Oman coasts of S Iran, UAE and Oman.
