White-crowned wheatear – Oenanthe leucopyga – is a large resident African-Arabian wheatear of Type-sallyer, Family Muscicapidae and Order Passeriformes. It is one of very few species of birds that calls the Sahara Desert Region their permanent home and it continues into W and NW Arabia. Except for a few states namely Turkey, S Caucasus, Iran, Iraq, Syria, Bahrain, Qatar, Cyprus, Somalia and Comoros, it is resident across the AWB Region.
