Broad-billed sandpiper

The Broad-billed sandpiper – Calidris falcinellus is a small wader of the family Scolopacidae. It is a summer breeder to bogs in the Taiga of northern Eurasia and migrates to the Tropics of S Asia and on to Australia. In the AWB Region it is found on Passage through the South Caucasus, Turkey, Iran, Iraq, the Levant, Sinai and the W coast of Saudi Arabia. It winters on the coasts of the S Arabian Gulf to the Straights of Hormuz, the Indian Ocean coasts of Oman, the Nile Delta, the SW Corner of Saudi Arabia, W Yemen and the coasts of Eritrea and Djibouti.
