Cream-colored courser

The Cream-colored courser – Cursorius cursor is a medium sized species of Type – wader of the family Glareolidae and the Order Charadriiformes. It has a complex patchwork of distribution across northern Africa, the Middle East and SW Asia. In the AWB Region it is a summer breeder to parts of Iran, the Levant, Arabia and the Maghreb states and in winter expands its range to also winter in Central and W Arabia, N Libya, N Egypt and the Nile Valley. There is also a resident population across all the Sahel states in the appropriate habitat.

Type - wader - nest a scrape in the ground,
Summer Habitat - dry open semi-desert regions, 
Winter Habitat - extends into more desert areas, seasonally more fertile,
Resident Habitat - the Sahel corridor,
