European Honey-buzzard – Pernis apivorus, is a medium sized species of Type diurnal-raptor of the Family Accipitridae and the Order Accipitriformes. It is a migrant summer visitor across most of Europe, extending in a tapering band to eastern Kazakhstan. It winters widely across sub Saharan Africa. In the AWB Region it is a summer visitor to northern Turkey, the Caucasus Region and the southern shores of the Caspian Sea.
