The Herring gull – Larus argentatus is a large European gull of Type – seabird, Family Laridae and Order Charadriiformes. It is resident along the coastlines of NW Europe, but further inland around the Baltic Sea it becomes migratory, moving to coastal zones in the winter. The closest winter range to the AWB Region is offshore N Portugal, but it is recorded regularly in Morocco.

                               inland lakes,  reservoirs, landfills, fields,
