Jacanidae – jacanas+

The Jacanidae- jacanas+ are a family of Waders of the Order Charadriiformes. However their main family characteristic is that they have extremely long toes and claws on their feet, which enables them to spread their weight widely, enabling them to walk and feed on floating vegetation. Hence they are classified as being in Type – marshfowl. They are found throughout the tropics.
