Jacanidae – jacanas

The Jacanidae- jacanas are a family of Waders of the Order Charadriiformes. Their main family characteristic is that they have extremely long toes and claws on their feet, which enables them to spread their weight widely, enabling them to walk on floating vegetation. They are found throughout the tropics.
