The Red knot – Calidris canutus is a medium sized wader of the family Scolopacidae. It is a Holarctic summer breeder in the Arctic Cordillera, it winters S in the Tropics and Australasia. In the AWB Region it is found on Passage in the Nile Delta and the Mediterranean coasts of the Maghreb states. It winters on the E coast of Tunisia and the Atlantic shores of Morocco, Western Sahara, and Mauritania.
