The Stercorariidae – Skuas+ or Stercorariidae skuas and jaegers is a family of medium to large species of Type – seabird of the Order Charadriiformes. They are strongly migratory ground nesting birds found in Polar and Temperate Regions. They are all classified in the only Genus Stercorarius, of the family Stercorariidae, the larger birds are called Skuas and the smaller ones are called jaegers. They are widely known for their kleptoparasitism, chasing other seabirds until they disgorge their catch.
